DIANE CHARLEMAGNE R.I.P.

All the listeners of my shows on Kiss 100 back in 1993 will know of my love for Urban Cookie Collectives “The Key the Secret” and I championed that track so hard, it made No 2 in the national charts, and she along with the ‘band’ did live P.A.’S as so many of my gigs including peach and The Promised land broadcast weekly live on Oxford’s Fox FM. I actually had it on cassette repeated about ten times and we used to have it belting out of the car on our long journeys up and down the motorways of the UK every weekend. the OK commercial it was but when you put the voice of Diane Charlemagne singing so uplifting lyrics over what essentially Glam “Hells Party” you had something truly special. She was also the vocalist for the other Goldy, GOLDIE for his Inner City Life as well as vocalist for High Contrast. Was terrible to hear today she passed away on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. Me sincere condolences to her family and all those close to her. R.I.P. Diane. We lost an amazing singer so young.
